Support Swells For Family Of Westchester Man Killed By Train: Leaves Behind 2 Kids

A community is coming together to help the family of a man killed by a train in Northern Westchester, who leaves behind two children and a third on the way.

The family of Peekskill resident Marcos Preciado, who was killed by a train in Cortlandt, is hoping to raise funds for his funeral expenses.

According to MTA officials, Peekskill resident Marcos Preciado, age 37, was killed on Monday night, May 8 after he was struck by an Amtrak train around 8:40 p.m. on the Hudson Line near Cortlandt station.

In the days after his death, his sister, Vanessa, created a fundraiser to help raise money for his funeral expenses. 

On the GoFundMe page, Preciado's sister wrote that he leaves behind two children and a third on the way. 

She also wrote that he had "real good friends" during his life. 

So far, over $9,000 has been raised out of a $25,000 goal as of Monday morning, May 15. 

A service for Preciado will be held on Tuesday, May 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill located at 414 Washington St. 

A funeral mass will be held the next day on Wednesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Peekskill at 920 1st St.
